Abstract

Nowadays, there are many ecological associations and foundations, including worldwide regulations to raise awareness of environmental issues. Because the planet has been deteriorating more and more, due to the negative impact of mankind. One of the problems is solid waste, as a polluting factor, and it is our obligation as citizens to attack it. Starting with our change of behavior, to a more ecological and environmentalist one. The purpose of this article is to present the solid waste management program as a strategy to improve environmental awareness in fifth and sixth grade students of the Public Institution 14502- Canchaque 2020. Using the analytical-deductive method, presenting a non-experimental research design, of the field research type with a descriptive level. The population consisted of 18 students in fifth and sixth grade of primary education at I.E. Institución Educativa N° 14502- Canchaque, for the year 2020. The data collection technique used was the survey and its instrument was the checklist. And the analysis technique used was statistical analysis and statistical interference. In conclusion, it is important that students reflect on the environment and its impact on the development of the person, in that sense, various theories such as those of Bronfenbrenner and Vygotsky, which support the research, were analyzed to improve the level of environmental awareness in the students under study.
