Arbitration process:

Arbitration system

At Más vita we use double-blind peer review. With an estimated time of 3 to 5 months, developed in five stages or phases of work.

Stages or phases of arbitration

The arbitration for the magazine Más vita is done through five stages or phases of work that are described below:

1-Item Shipping

Once the author considers that they have complied with all the recommendations described in the For authors section (https://www.acvenisproh.com/revistas/index.php/masvita/information/authors), they must send the document, along with with the Letter of Originality (Letter of Originality) to the following email masvitarevista@gmail.com.

It can also be sent through the OJS of the magazine Más vita, once you have registered as an author.

It is worth noting that Más Vita does not request or receive payments for the reception and/or arbitration of an article.

2-Preliminary review

During this phase, the editor evaluates whether the manuscript meets the criteria of formality of the text, as well as topicality. If the assessment is favourable, the arbitration process continues. If this is not the case, the manuscript is returned to the author with the observations and recommendations. For this process, the Más Vita Magazine has an estimated time of fifteen working days. In both cases, the editor sends, to the corresponding author, information about the stage or phase of the arbitration in which the manuscript is.

3-Review by peers external to Acvenisproh International

Once the Editorial Team receives the article, they run the Crossref / Thenticate anti-plagiarism software. The result of this execution according to the acceptance criteria must range between 1% to 5%. Once verified that there is no plagiarism, the scope and theme of the manuscript are determined, to assign the appropriate referees. This process is carried out using a double-blind modality. The arbitrators are made up of external evaluators and in cases where the results are not unanimous, a third arbitrator is incorporated. It is worth mentioning that the final decision of publication, considering the arguments of the evaluators, rests with the Editor of the journal.

Each evaluator makes use of an evaluation instrument. The referee evaluation scale or instrument (https://www.acvenisproh.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/formato-de-evaluacion-de-la-revista-MasVita.pdf) consists of nine sections , with their respective indicators, which, among other things, evaluate: innovation, originality, precision, quality of the arguments, scientific level, presentation and justification of the results and conclusions, impact of the topic, quality of the discourse, presentation of illustrations and references bibliographical

This process may take approximately twenty-five business days. The verdict can yield the following results:

*Publishing without modifications.

*Publishing with modifications of form.

*Published with substantive modifications (or in content, or in theoretical framework, or in objectives, or in methodology, or in conclusions, or in references).

*Publishing with background and form modifications.

*Not publishable.

The corresponding author is issued a certificate specifying the verdict of the arbitrators, as well as the guidelines of the arbitration team.

4-Final review

In the event that it is an article whose result of the evaluation showed publishable with modifications, an email is written to the author to make the correction and send the copy again.

In the case of a manuscript whose result of the evaluation showed the need for modifications, its authors will have a maximum period of 25 business days to incorporate them. It is suggested that when the manuscript is resubmitted for evaluation, they submit a report of the observations incorporated. Once the modified article has been received, the Editorial Committee will verify that the observations have been incorporated and will deliver it again to the Referees. If it is determined that the incorporated observations do not meet the required criteria, they will be sent again to the authors until the document is completed.

In the event that the authors have not incorporated the observations and have not submitted a report on the reason for this omission, an email will be sent calling attention. If there is no response from the authors, the article will remain paused for two months and then it will be removed from the journal.

When the verdicts are favorable to the Publication, the Referees inform the Editorial Group who will continue the editing and publication process.

5-Editing and publication

the event that the article has a publishable evaluation without modifications, the author or authors are informed of the result by means of a simple email, which specifies the date on which the article will be published in accordance with the periodicity of the journal. If the results imply modifications of form, content or not publishable, a detailed report is sent with the observations generated by the referees.

Once the article is accepted to be published definitively, since it has already covered the points that accredit it for said publication, the proof of definitive publication is issued, specifying the number and volume where said publication will be carried out. . Finally, when the article is published, the publication certificate is issued specifying the DOI (Digital Object Identifier) assigned to the article and the link to the published journal.

In the case of articles whose evaluation result was not publishable, the author is informed, warning them not to reapply the same article to the journal. If the author or authors omit this opinion, an email will be sent specifying that they will not be able to publish in the journal for a period of one year.

Unacceptable editorial practices:

Having consulted the different documents of COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) in order to organize a Code of Ethics and Good Editorial Practices, we have established that the following practices will not be accepted in the journal: multiple publications, repetitive publication, plagiarism, self-plagiarism, use of ghostwriters, manipulation of quotations and self-citations.

Conflict resolution

Actions to be taken in case of detection of any of these undesirable practices:

  • Multiple publications/Repetitive publication: as soon as multiple publication is detected (in more than one journal or as part of event proceedings), an explanation will be requested from the authors. If the arguments do not satisfy the Scientific Committee and the Editor, the article will be withdrawn and the authors will be sanctioned by not being allowed to publish another article in this journal for a period of two years.
  • Plagiarism and self-plagiarism: When it is detected that a manuscript presents coincidences -in 70%- with an already published work or there is self-plagiarism (the author takes verbatim what has already been published but does not cite it.  Which leads to think that his contribution is unpublished and original). A detailed report will be prepared in which all the sources (web pages of journals or pdf of articles) that certify the plagiarism or self-plagiarism will be specified and the authors will be asked for explanations in order to define if these practices actually exist or if it is only the product of an error. If no response is received within two weeks, the article will be withdrawn from the editorial process.
  • E Ghostwriter: although it is a difficult practice to detect, the Editor has the power to remove the article from the journal. If detected once the article has been published, it will be removed from the journal's website and a clarifying note will be made in the Editorial.

In case the article has been published, two paths will be followed:

  • Correction: if the authors provide an explanation satisfactory to the Editor and the Editorial Committee, a new version will be received from the authors with the changes made and an attached note specifying these changes. It will be immediately incorporated into the journal's OJS.
  • Withdrawal: the article will be withdrawn from the journal's website and other pages where it is available, accompanied by a communiqué with a note in the Editorial informing the details of the case. In this case, the anonymity of the authors will not be maintained.

Note: if the article is not yet published and is in some editorial processes (layout, style correction, proofreading) a detailed report will be sent to the authors about the reasons for the rejection and withdrawal of the article. The anonymity of the authors will be maintained.

In any of the above cases, the decision will be communicated in writing to the authors.

Other aspects:

Once the article has been accepted, the authors commit themselves to include all the observations derived from the peer review that they consider pertinent in their work. They must justify in writing the observations not incorporated.

Authors should be aware that once the observations have been evaluated and integrated and the manuscript has been accepted, the Editorial Committee or the Editor might request another modification with the purpose of improving the quality of the article. If the authors refuse, the article will be withdrawn from publication. It should be remembered that they signed a letter of commitment emphasizing this aspect.

Papers by the same author(s) will not be published in consecutive issues.

CLOCKSS Open Journal Systems also supports the CLOCKSS (Controlled Lots of Copies Keep StuffSafe) to ensure a permanent and secure archive for the journal. CLOCKSS is based on the open source LOCKSS software developed at Stanford University Library, which allows libraries to preserve selected web journals by regularly checking registered journal websites for recently published content and archiving it. Each archive is constantly validated against other library caches and, if it is detected that content has been corrupted or lost, the other caches or the journal are used to restore it.
  2. The policies of the storage hosting company: In addition to the advantages offered by the servicioshosting.com
  3. Policies for the safeguarding of equipment and work servers: with respect to the local work equipment we have the following guidelines:

               -  Control of environmental factors (humidity, temperature, contamination).

               - The place where the server is located complies with optimal conditions to avoid equipment deterioration.

               - There is a discipline of handling and backup: the equipment is configured to alert and make backups automatically.

               -  With respect to the storage of articles, there is a two-year storage policy. This policy applies to files received for arbitration as well as to those that are published. Likewise, the evaluation forms of the articles submitted for arbitration are stored (minimum of two years).

                - Article versions are stored in the following way: preprint (non-evaluated version), post print (editorial) and post print (author's corrected version).

                - The server is checked periodically (predictive maintenance plan) to avoid possible damage.
