Pro-Environmental Program aimed at an Educational Community

With the present study, the components that a program must have in relation to environmental care were analyzed through the use of quantitative tools to present a pro-environmental program that benefits an Educational Community. To achieve the objective of the research, its two variables were mainly conceptualized: "environmental program" and "educational community"; Additionally, information was generated through surveys in which teachers, managers, administrators, parents, and students participated. As results of the investigation, it is known that there is a need to strengthen the environmental culture in the educational institution analyzed and that, on the other hand, the institution has strengths related to communication and organization to achieve its objectives. Finally, the survey participants considered that carrying out a pro-environmental program is a valid way to strengthen the institutional environmental culture. As a conclusion of the study, it was obtained that an educational community in the Canton of Durán requires actions that promote institutional communication around environmental issues, links with the surrounding community, better inclusion of environmental issues in the content of classes and promotion of values and eco-citizen practices in the interior. Therefore, proposing a program would be very useful.
