This article is aimed at carrying out a critical and reflective analysis on how to address the situation of violence specifically in the Afro-descendant population of educational institutions on the coast of Ecuador, according to the result of a research on dating violence in adolescents carried out by the E-previous group from Ecuador, where the existence of violence between them was demonstrated. Because they are very sensitive issues and due to the current situation in Ecuador, a look should be taken at what the World Health Organization (WHO) 2022 proposes, related to personal self-care for health and well-being directed through projects such as the Self-Care Bus to achieve active participation in activities related to self-esteem and valuing them as people with rights not to allow, much less make normal, behaviors that reflect violence; Bidirectional violence cannot be acceptable in the educational institutions reflected in the research, where there were answers admissible by them regarding control over the use of electronic devices among adolescents who were in the dating stage (knowing what their partner writes in the cell phone). The creation of multidisciplinary groups to address this situation also justifies its creation in the mission that universities have as an entity that not only forms resources, but also generates responses to the needs of certain populations where strategies are created that guarantee availability. of accessible, high-quality self-care interventions in any community that deserves it.
