Abstract

Bullying affects about one third of the adolescent population worldwide, and is a problem that significantly affects the health and well-being of young people. In this context, resilience is a protective factor to be investigated that makes it possible to cope with these adverse experiences. The aim of the study was to explore the predictive correlation between resilience and bullying in a sample of 367 adolescents attending high school at the "Luis Tello" Fiscal Educational Unit. The design was non-experimental, cross-sectional, quantitative, descriptive/correlational. The average age of the group was 15.74 years, 85.8% were males and 14.2% females. Forty-nine.3% self-identified as mestizo and 46% as Afro-descendant. All completed psychometric scales on resilience and bullying. It was observed that greater problem solving was significantly associated with a reduction in being a victim of bullying. Also, psychological aggression is the most frequent form of bullying. In addition, the importance of implementing school programs that strengthen resilience and address the various forms of bullying, especially those that tend to be normalized, was confirmed. In conclusion, comprehensive intervention is essential to improve the well-being of adolescents in vulnerable environments.
