Abstract

Digital transformation has become a key factor in strengthening the management of core processes in higher education institutions. In this context, the present study aimed to analyze the level of digital awareness and digital maturity among personnel involved in institutional management at the Instituto Superior Tecnológico de Formación Profesional Administrativa y Comercial, with the purpose of identifying the main technological needs affecting organizational performance. The research was conducted under a mixed-methods approach with a non-experimental, descriptive, cross-sectional design. The population consisted of teaching, administrative, and managerial staff, from which a sample was selected through stratified probabilistic sampling. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire based on a Likert scale designed to assess digital competencies, use of technological tools, and level of digital awareness. In addition, semi-structured interviews were conducted to complement the quantitative information. The results revealed that the level of technological awareness among staff is predominantly moderate, indicating recognition of the importance of digital tools; however, limitations persist in terms of technological training and the effective integration of these tools into institutional processes. It is concluded that strengthening the digital competencies of institutional personnel is a key factor in promoting digital transformation and improving the efficiency of core institutional processes.
