Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the relationship between participation in extracurricular entrepreneurship activities and the development of psychosocial competencies among business administration students at a public university in Huaraz, Peru. Competencies such as resilience, leadership, creativity, risk tolerance, adaptability, and networking skills were examined. A quantitative, descriptive correlational, non-experimental, cross-sectional design was employed. The sample consisted of 207 students selected through probabilistic sampling. The instrument demonstrated high reliability, with a Cronbach Alpha coefficient of 0.89. Since the data did not follow a normal distribution, Spearman correlation was used to examine the association between variables. The results showed a positive relationship of low to moderate level between psychosocial entrepreneurial competencies and participation in extracurricular activities. The dimensions most strongly associated were resilience, adaptability, and networking communication. In contrast, creativity did not show a significant relationship, suggesting limitations in its development within the institutional context. In conclusion, extracurricular activities contribute to strengthening key competencies for entrepreneurship; however, pedagogical gaps remain in fostering innovation and creativity in university settings.
