Educational Materials for the Prevention of Gender-Based Violence in Higher Education

The increase in cases of gender violence in Ecuadorian society, from which the university does not escape, has resulted in a systematic violation of the rights of Ecuadorian women. For this reason, the purpose of this research is to determine the Educational Materials as a Tool for the Prevention of Gender Violence in Higher Education. This research was located in the positivist paradigm, with a quantitative approach, field type with a descriptive level. The study population consisted of 30 teachers and 230 students of the first year of the law school of the law faculty of the Metropolitan University UMET. The sample consisted of 10 teachers and 80 students. A survey was used as a data collection technique and a questionnaire with dichotomous answers was used as an instrument. The results showed that 89% of those consulted know what gender violence is, and 65% of those consulted stated that they have not heard of cases of gender violence at the university. It was concluded that there is a need for the implementation of strategies that, in some way, allow the prevention of such a situation. To this end, Educational Materials as a Tool for the Prevention of Gender Violence in Higher Education is a relevant strategy to be taken into consideration
