Resumen

Este estudio analizó la educación ambiental no formal y la conciencia ecológica en comunidades nativas de la Selva Central del Perú, en un escenario de degradación del bosque y gestión limitada de residuos. El objetivo fue identificar su sentido práctico desde la perspectiva de estudiantes de la Universidad Nacional Intercultural de la Selva Central Juan Santos Atahualpa y de madres y padres de comunidades de Satipo (Junín). Se empleó un diseño mixto de triangulación: encuesta a estudiantes y entrevistas abiertas in situ a familias. Los resultados evidencian que el cuidado ambiental se sustenta en normas y aprendizajes intergeneracionales, expresados en restricciones a la tala, caza y pesca, uso de abonos orgánicos y protección de plantas medicinales percibidas como escasas. En residuos, se observaron prácticas comunitarias de disposición y separación, pero persistieron dificultades para manejar materiales no biodegradables. En conjunto, este estudio aporta evidencia empírica (mixta) de que la educación no formal basada en saberes tradicionales sostiene prácticas de cuidado ambiental y puede orientar acciones comunitarias frente a presiones socioambientales.
