Teaching-learning process in environments marked by material scarcity and high costs requires innovative tools to ensure its continuity. This study assesses the implications of a technological improvement to a prosthetic dentistry teaching device on skill acquisition and the Sustainable Development Goals. A quasi-experimental study with a mixed-method approach was conducted between January 2023 and January 2024 with 40 students (control group n=20, experimental n=20) and 5 professors. Weaknesses were diagnosed, the improvement was designed and implemented, and its effect was evaluated using Student's t-test, Mann-Whitney U, Cohen's d, r and content analysis for the SDGs. The experimental group showed statistically significant differences in academic evaluations, perceptions of practical skills, and satisfaction. Content analysis evidenced direct contributions to SDGs 3, 4, 9, and 12. The technological improvement proved effective in the specific context studied and serving as a starting point for further research exploring the scalability of this innovation in contexts with similar limitations.
