E-Sports: From the socio-historical, cultural review towards its conceptualization

Abstract

Nowadays, video games have captured the attention of a varied public, no longer only young people comparticipate in this hobbybut adults as well, but also adults have been inclined to them, but a large group of players and users know nothing about the eSportssector. That is why the present research aims to determine the conceptualization of lose-Sportsas a sport, according to the understanding of this modality and the emergence of new professionals. Employing for this purpose a methodology under the positivist paradigm, with a quantitative approach, with a design of non-experimental type, being of the documentary type, presenting a descriptive level. As data collection technique, the documentary review was used and its instruments were the file and the notebook. The analysis technique used was the content analysis. It concludeswhen the definition of eSportsas a sport, has had a advancement in the social sphere, in that championships have been organized and the specialization of people who are dedicated to this purpose, is growing.
