Abstract

The university is the most appropriate place to practice scientific activity, by virtue of the level of study that they offer. Ecuadorian universities establish lines of research that promote and stimulate research processes in the area of law. Therefore, the present study aims to describe the elements that denote the strengthening of the triad academic research - Ecuadorian law - challenges of the XXI century, within the framework of the Ecuadorian University Education. Research developed from a non-experimental design, documentary type and of descriptive and exploratory character, because it infers in the analysis of primary sources already established, legal documents and similar investigations. In such methodological context, bibliographic documents, some antecedents and previous works related to the topic were investigated. The data collection technique was based on the file and the content card. For the study of the data we proceeded with the content analysis. In conclusion, Ecuadorian higher education must be prepared to face the challenges of the 21st century: the challenge of building a just society based on knowledge, doing good scientific and technological research, transforming the educational systems of the region, among others.
