Arbitration process
Arbitration system
At Más Vita we use double-blind peer review. With an estimated time of 3 to 5 months, developed in five stages or work phases.
Stages or phases of arbitration
Refereeing for Más Vita magazine is done through five stages or work phases that are described below:
1-Sending the item
- Once the author considers that he has complied with all the recommendations described in the For authors section (https://www.acvenisproh.com/revistas/index.php/masvista/information/authors), he must send the document, along with with the Letter of Originality to the following email masvitarevista@gmail.com.
- It can also be sent through the OJS of the Más vita magazine, once you have registered as an author.
- It is worth noting that Más vita does not request or receive payments for the receipt and/or arbitration of an article.
2-Preliminary review
During this phase, the editor evaluates whether the manuscript meets the criteria of formality of the text, as well as topical relevance. If the assessment is favourable, the arbitration process continues its course. Otherwise, the manuscript is returned to the author with the observations and recommendations. Revista Más Vita has an estimated time of fifteen business days for this process. In both cases, the editor sends the corresponding author information about the stage or phase of the arbitration in which his manuscript is.
3-Review by external peers to Acvenisproh International
Once the Editorial Team receives the article, it runs the anti-plagiarism software Crossref / ¡Thenticate. The result of this execution according to the acceptance criteria should range from 1% to 5%. Once verified that there is no plagiarism, the scope and theme of the manuscript is determined, to assign the appropriate referees. This process is carried out using a double-blind modality. The referees are made up of external evaluators and in cases of not having unanimity in the results, a third referee is incorporated. It is worth saying that the final publication decision, considering the arguments of the evaluators, is made by the Editor of the journal.
Each evaluator makes use of an evaluation instrument. The referee evaluation scale or instrument (https://www.acvenisproh.com/revistas/index.php/masvita/about/#evaluacionarbitros) consists of three sections, with their respective indicators, which evaluate: title, summary, originality, scientific rigor, theoretical framework, clarity and coherence of objectives and methodology, results, conclusions and references.
This process may take approximately twenty-five business days. The verdict can yield the following results:
- Publishable without modifications.
- Publishable with form modifications.
- Publishable with substantial modifications (or in content, or in theoretical framework, or in objectives, or in methodology, or in conclusions, or in references).
- Publishable with background and form modifications.
- Not publishable.
The author of the correspondence is issued a certificate specifying the verdict of the arbitrators, as well as the orientations of the arbitration team.
4-Final review
In the case of an article whose evaluation result was publishable with modifications, an email is sent to the author to make the correction and send the copy again.
In the case of a manuscript whose evaluation result revealed the need for modifications, its authors will have a maximum period of 25 business days to incorporate them. It is suggested that when they submit the manuscript for evaluation again, they send a report of the incorporated observations. Once the modified article is received, the Editorial Committee will verify that the observations have been incorporated and will deliver it again to the Referees. If it is determined that the observations incorporated do not meet the required criteria, they will be sent back to the authors until the document is complete.
In the event that the authors have not incorporated the observations and have not submitted a report about the reason for this omission, an email will be sent calling attention. If there is no response from the authors, the article will remain on pause for two months and then it will be disincorporated from the journal.
When the verdicts are favorable to the Publication, the Referees inform the Editorial Group who will continue the editing and publication process.
5-Editing and publication
In the event that the article has a publishable rating without modifications, the author or authors are informed of the result by means of a simple email, specifying the date on which the article will be published according to the periodicity of the journal. If the results imply modifications in form, substance or not publishable, a detailed report is sent with the observations generated by the referees.
Once the article is accepted to be definitively published, since it has already covered the points that accredit it for said publication, the final publication certificate is issued, specifying the number and volume where said publication will be made. . Finally, when the article is published, the publication certificate is issued, specifying the DOI (Digital Object Identifier) assigned to the article and the link to the published journal.
In the case of articles whose evaluation result was not publishable, the author is informed warning them not to submit the same article to the journal again. If the author or authors omit this opinion, an email will be sent specifying that they will not be able to publish in the journal for a period of one year.
Evaluation Instrument
Our referees use the following Referee Evaluation Instrument

Unaccepted Editorial Practices:
Consulting the different documents that COPE (Committee on Publicati on Ethics) in order to organize a Code of Ethics and Good Editorial Practices, we have established that the practices mentioned below will not be accepted in the journal: multiple publications, repetitive publication, plagiarism, self-plagiarism , use of ghostwriting, citation manipulation, and self-citations.
Conflict resolution
Actions to take in case of detection of any of these unwanted practices:
- Multiple publications/Repetitive publication: as soon as multiple publication is detected (in more than one journal or as part of event reports), the authors will be asked for an explanation. If the arguments do not satisfy the Scientific Committee and the Editor, the article will be withdrawn and the authors will be penalized, making it impossible to publish another article in this journal for a period of two years.
- Plagiarism and self-plagiarism: when it is detected that a manuscript presents coincidences -in 70%- with a work already published or there is self-plagiarism (the author takes what has already been published verbatim but is not cited, which leads one to think that his contribution is unpublished and original) a detailed report will be prepared in which all the sources (journal web pages or pdf of articles) that certify plagiarism or self-plagiarism will be specified and the authors will be asked for explanations in order to define if these practices actually exist Or is it just the product of an error? If no response is received within a period of no more than two weeks, the article will be withdrawn from the editorial process.
- Ghostwriting: Although difficult to detect, the Editor has the discretion to remove the article from the journal. If it is detected once the article has been published, it will be removed from the journal's website and a clarifying note will be made in the Editorial.
If the article has been published, two paths will be followed:
- Correction: if the authors provide a satisfactory explanation for the Editor and the Editorial Committee, a new version will be received from the authors with the changes made and an attached note specifying those changes. It will be incorporated immediately to the OJS of the magazine.
- Withdrawal: the article will be withdrawn from the magazine's website and other pages where it is available, accompanied by a statement with a note in the Editorial in which the details of the case are reported. In this case, the anonymity of the authors will not be maintained.
Note: if the article has not yet been published and is in some of the editorial processes (layout, style correction, proofreading), a detailed report will be sent to the authors on the reasons for the rejection and withdrawal of the article. The anonymity of the authors will be maintained.
In any of the aforementioned cases, the decision will be communicated in writing to the authors.
Other aspects:
Once the article is accepted, the authors undertake to integrate all the observations derived from the peer review that they consider pertinent in their work. You must justify the unincorporated observations in writing.
Authors should know that once the observations have been evaluated and integrated and the manuscript accepted, the Editorial Committee or the Editor may request another modification with the purpose of improving the quality of the article. In case the authors refuse, the article will be withdrawn from the publication. It must be remembered that they signed a commitment letter in which emphasis is placed on this aspect.
Papers by the same authors or authors in consecutive numbers will not be published.

Each file is continuously validated against records from other libraries, so any damaged or lost content can be restored using those records or the journal itself. CLOCKSS Open Journal Systems also supports the CLOCKSS(Controlled Lots of Copies Keep StuffSafe) to ensure a permanent and secure archive for the journal. CLOCKSS is based on the open source LOCKSS software developed at Stanford University Library, which allows libraries to preserve selected web journals by regularly checking registered journal websites for recently published content and archiving it. Each archive is constantly validated against other library caches and, if it is detected that content has been corrupted or lost, the other caches or the journal are used to restore it.

Ethics and Conflict of Interest
Ethical considerations
The Editorial Committee and the Reviewers, in addition to the methodological, academic and technical evaluation, have the responsibility of ensuring ethics in Más Vita's publications, as well as not encouraging misconduct or bad practices.
General ethical considerations
- The confidentiality of the data of patients or research subjects must be kept. If any author wishes to publish this type of information, he must submit consent forms.
- Más Vita is governed by internationally accepted ethical guidelines (Code of Conduct, COPE, and Office of Research Integrity, ORI)
- The materials for publication must offer precision, so that, in the review, it can be replicated or refuted.
- The author or authors are the people who accomplished the study. In this way, it is important to take into account that the people who appear mentioned as authors contributed to the collection of material, in the interpretation, in the writing and revision of the material produced, as well as in the approval to request the publication. The order in which they appear mentioned is a decision between the authors, but the amount of effort and contributions must be taken into account to give it the first places.
- There is the figure of collaborators, to mention those who in some way contributed to the study.
- Mention of so-called ghost authors, guest authors, and honorary authors should be avoided.
- Whether the author(s) want to add, remove, or rearrange the list of authors. A formal communication must be sent explaining the reason and method of location, in addition to the written consent of the rest of the authors.
- Authors should be aware that fraudulent or deliberately inaccurate statements are considered outside academic ethics.
- The author is obliged to identify in his study the collateral risks related to the referenced procedures, chemicals or equipment.
- Plagiarism is unacceptable. Our journal has an anti-plagiarism review system. Authors must be careful and adhere to the rules to give necessary credits and avoid taking other people's information, ideas or falsifying information. If a posteriori, a reader informs about the suspicion of some plagiarism, the review will be done again and, if true, the article will appear only with the title as retracted.
- Plagiarism is also considered incorrect authorship, since the person who has worked the most in preparing the article must be referenced first, and so on. Putting the name of someone who has not written anything goes against the principles of ethics. If, subsequently, someone communicates this fact to the magazine, said author will not be able to publish again in Más Vita.
- It is necessary to make visible the information about the financing that has been received. In the event of a conflict of interest, the author is solely responsible to the entity that financed or provided assistance.
Conflict of interests
Normally, a conflict of interest occurs when the authors or researchers have opinions or financial interests that may influence the objectivity of their actions.
The most frequent conflicts of interest are classified as direct and indirect. The direct ones have to do with employment, ownership of shares, scholarships, patents, and the indirect ones, with fees, advice, ownership of investment funds, testimony of a paid specialist.
Personal relationships can also trigger conflicts of interest, for example academic competition between colleagues that may lead to interests in research results or personal opinions.
Our magazine recommends the following:
- Warning if there is a possibility of a possible conflict due to influence in results that may be biased.
- Mention all the people involved in the research or study.
- Do not make agreements independently or verbally.
- Declare, through a formal document, the role played by each funding entity or sponsor. It is also recommended to place it before the references to the consulted bibliography.
Interoperability protocol
All the publications of the Más Vita Magazine Portal incorporate interoperability protocols (https://pkp.sfu.ca/ohs/) that allow their contents to be collected by other distribution systems, such as digital repositories and harvesters. . The journals that are published through OJS (Open Journals System 3.3.0.8) incorporate the OAI-PMH (Open Archive Initiative-Protocol for Metadata Harvesting) interoperability protocol with the possibility of obtaining different metadata formats.
Protocol: OAI-PMH Version 2.0 Metadata formats: Dublin Core; MARC; MARC21; RFC1807 Route for harvesters: https://acvenisproh.com/revistas/index.php/masvita/oai
