The type ii diabetes patient’s lifestyles that go to the maternal and infant center “Enrique Ponce Luque”, Babahoyo, 2019

Introduction: Diabetes Mellitus is a disease of great importance at the level of Public Health throughout the world, as it is one of the most frequent non-communicable diseases that represents a great economic burden for health systems and the world economy. Objective: To diagnose the lifestyles of patients with Type II Diabetes mellitus who attend the Enrique Ponce Luque Maternal and Child Center, Babahoyo 2019. Methodology: The research is in the quantitative paradigm, field modality, descriptive with a cross-sectional design. A survey was applied as a technique and the instrument was the IMEVID questionnaire. The population was 103 patients and the sample was 85 patients with type II diabetes mellitus who attended the Center. Results: an inadequate management of the clinical history and the registration of health information, inadequate procedure for evaluating the state of health and low quality of care for patients were evidenced. Conclusion: Of a total of 85 patients with type II diabetes mellitus, 32 patients who presented an unfavorable lifestyle were obtained; 28 had an unfavorable lifestyle and 25 presented a favorable lifestyle with 38%, 33%, 29% respectively. The purpose of this research is to raise awareness among the study population to improve lifestyles and reduce the development of this pathology.
