Introduction: This research addresses the experience of minibus users in the highlands of Ancash, considering its impact on well-being and quality of life. Objective: To analyze how service conditions, staff treatment, and fare costs influence user experience. Specifically, the study examined the influence of overcrowding and vehicle conditions on comfort and safety, the effect of drivers' and fare collectors' behavior on emotional well-being, the importance of price in transportation choice, and the psychological consequences associated with travel. Methods: A qualitative study with a phenomenological design was conducted, based on semi-structured interviews with 14 frequent users, whose data were processed through inductive categorization. Results: Findings revealed overcrowding, poor maintenance, insecurity, verbal abuse, stress, and frustration; however, low cost remains the main reason for use. Conclusion: Passenger experience is shaped by physical, economic, and relational factors that negatively affect well-being. Strengthening supervision, improving vehicle maintenance, training staff, and implementing visible reporting mechanisms are recommended.
