Prevalence of alcohol consumption in people aged 14 to 35

Introduction: For the human being the excessive alcohol consumption produces habit and sometimes causes irreparable damage to the individual and the community health, if there is control on time. The body absorbs this toxic substance rapidly and affects the nervous
system. Objective: To know the prevalence of alcohol consumption in people aged 14 to 35 years. Materials and methods: The procedure carried out was a quantitative method of descriptive type, for which selected one random character, having as population people aged
between 14 and 35 years. An anonymous survey was applied to the data collection. Results: Female respondents represent (53, 6%), those
of the mestizo population (85, 7%) and people aged between 14 and 20 years (60, 8%) are those who reported the highest rate of alcohol
consumption. The 86, 7% say that alcohol does cause damage to their health and they say they consume between one and two alcoholic
beverages. The average age at which they started alcohol consumption is between 14 and 17 years old (53, 3%), and 80% of respondents
indicate that they spend the amount of 1 to 3 dollars on alcoholic beverages. Conclusion: It evidenced that young people consume alcohol at a very early age, in turn, deny the possibility that it can cause irreparable damage to health.
