Abstract

Introduction: The consequences of pregnancy in adolescence are multiple, in the social sphere such as repetition of the cycle of poverty, school dropout, predisposition to violence and repercussions on the state of health such as premature births, underweight children, even multiparity. in adolescence. Objective: The following study aims to recognize the consequences of adolescent pregnancy in the area of influence of the Macuma parish, a Shuar community of indigenous self-identification. Materials and methods: The methodology used was that of a quantitative and qualitative, field, cross-sectional, documentary study. Results: The expected results represent the incidence of adolescent pregnancies in the area, the consequences of these pregnancies, and the perceptions of the professionals who operate in this environment where the events occur, as well as the different actors and people from community. Conclusion: A deep reflection and elaboration of new strategies that include the active participation of all sectors of society are required, with a view to effectively confronting this crucial problem and ensuring that the reduction of adolescent pregnancy ceases to be a pending issue. .
