Malignant Round Cell Neoplasia, case report and literature review

Abstract

Introducción: Malignant round cell neoplasms correspond to a group of very rare tumors with an aggressive clinical evolution, characterized by stromal desmoplasia, polyphenotypic differentiation and a specific translocation with an uncertain histogenesis. The extension and location of the tumor correlate with the symptoms observed according to its presentation, they are not very specific, only isolated cases have been documented in unusual sites such as the head and neck region, where the diagnostic suspicion of this tumor is very low. Objective: Determine histopathological diagnosis through incisional biopsy of a lesion in the left upper posterior jaw in a male patient who attended consultation at the Salazar Cordero Dental Center. Materials and Methods: The methodology used was the data collection technique through interviews, where instruments such as: clinical history, informed consent, radiological examinations, clinical photographs, laboratory examinations and histopathological studies were used. Results: The biopsy revealed a Malignant Round Cell Neoplasia. Conclusion: Performing an incisional biopsy in this type of lesion and performing pathological and immunohistochemical studies guarantees exactly what we are facing in order to address it in the best way.
