Validation of the instrument for the evaluation of the teaching role of external consultation nursing professionals

Introduction: the educational role of nursing is convenient to understand and interpret the perception of nursing professionals and patients about their educational experience. Education is an essential component of the nursing profession. It is conceived as a substantive function of the nursing role, since it is a central part of the care that this professional provides to people in different fields of action. Objective: to validate an instrument for the evaluation of the teaching role of nursing professionals in patients attended in outpatient clinics. Methodology: the paradigm under which this research was built was of a quantitative nature, of a hypothetical deductive type. The evaluation of the instrument was carried out through expert judgment. For the pilot test, 248 patients attended in the outpatient clinic of the IESS Ceibos-Guayaquil General Hospital participated. makes it highly reliable to mediate the teaching role of nursing professionals in patients attended in outpatient clinics. Conclusions: the instrument is suitable for evaluating the teaching role of nursing professionals in patients seen in outpatient clinics.
