Couple conflict and grief management after an abortion process. A case study

Abstract

Introduction: Abortion is a highly controversial issue that has become a problem for our society, which has been increasing in recent years, due to that people constantly argue about the positions they have on this subject. Objective: To determine the handling of grief and conflict in couples who have gone through an abortion process. Materials and methods: This investigation is a case study modality,
quantitative, with a non-experimental design, field type, with descriptive level and crosssection. To select the sample an intentional nonprobabilistic style was choose, consisting of 10 people, 6 women and 4 men. The data collection instruments were the Sociodemographic Questionnaire, to measure socio-personal characteristics, which allowed gathering information about the levels of conflict in couples of the subjects. Results: It had established that the sample was predominantly comprised of the female gender, in a relationship, the level of conflict of the couple, of the sample, is medium predominant indicators of differences in character, monotony and lack of planning goals and projects as a couple. Conclusions: It had observed that despite the conflicts, the couple manages to reach agreements through communication. The duel variable showed that the subjects have a good handling of it, being in the process of acceptance regarding the loss.
